Hunter Fleece Socks for my Cold Feet
I don't know why, but my feet are always cold. Even in the summer when the rest of my body is sweating. My doctor says it could be due to an iron deficiency or the onset of diabetes; all I know is that it's annoying. What's most curious about my cold feet is that other people, like my husband, don't notice it. We can climb into bed at night with my feet feeling as cold as they've ever been, yet when I place them against my husband's skin he says they feel normal to him. I guess this is probably just an internal thing.
Thankfully, I tested negative for diabetes. I did start to take iron pills, which made me feel somewhat better, but the cold feeling isn't completely gone. So now I resort to wearing socks and slippers all the time. During the winter months I have a pair of Hunter Fleece socks that do an amazing job at keeping my feet warm. I hate wearing shoes around the house regardless of the season, so being able to wear the socks is a pleasure. My feet stay warm and comfortable without clunking around the house in a big pair of shoes. Sometimes I think fleece socks are one of God's greatest inventions.
I recently found out that my grandmother had the same issue for most of her adult life. The only difference was that her hands and fingers were always cold too. My father says that she tried a whole bunch of folk remedies and different medicines to alleviate the problem, but none worked. She ended up doing the same thing I do; she always had heavy socks on her feet and when possible, on her hands too. That would've been fun to see; my grandmother wearing Hunter Fleece socks on her hands.
She lived to the ripe old age of 82 before passing on due to natural causes. The rest of my family reminds me of this whenever I start getting worried about my cold feet. They assure me it's probably nothing serious, especially since the doctor hasn't found anything wrong with me, and I'll probably outlive her by several years. That's fine with me, as long as they keep making heavy fleece socks.
Before I close I would like to ask the Hunter company if they could do me one small favour. Don't stop making socks. I've had my Hunter Fleece socks for the longest time and don't ever want to buy new ones from anyone else. These are the best socks I've ever worn. So Hunter, as long as you remain in business you have a faithful customer in me.
